present spectacular postal history covers, featuring the rarest frankings, postage rates and destinations, while «La Collection Genève» will showcase world-class rare stamps, the ideal addition tothe «Pilatus» collection: inclu- ding a splendid pair of Basle Doves as well the 5 Rp. Rayon I in light blue and the 10 Rp. Rayon II, both with completely framed cross. Focused Range of Individual Lots The second volume of the catalogue is dedicated to the philately of all regions outside of Switzerland, various speciality aeras as well as an unrivalled range of collections. Interested parties will also find numerous world rarities amongst the individual lots on offer. By way of an example, we would like to inform you of a block of 12 from the corner of the sheet of the «Burg Rheinstein» stamp in mint condition, one of only two known specimens of «Nothilfe» souvenir sheet from the German Empire with a reverse watermark, also Zara’s Michel no. 17 in mint condition and many rare Liechtenstein covers dating back to the pre-philatelic period and Liechtenstein forerunners. Outstanding Special Collections Once again, particular emphasis is placed on outstanding extended collections, some of which have been awarded many prizes at international exhibitions. As examples, we would like to mention an unusual and extensive collection of covers from the Italian and German occupations of Laibach, a high-quality special collection of Zara, a large stock of the Soviet Occupation Zone of Germany with rare colors and varieties, first day covers and collections of covers from the Federal Republic of Germany and Berlin featuring a number of rarities, a collection of Great Britain including a complete plate reconstruction of 240 specimens of the Penny Black, an enormous stock of imperforated issues from Liechtenstein, a fantastic collection of the Netherlands with more than 700 specimens from the 1852 issue, a magnificent airmail collection from the Soviet Union, an exhibition collection of Israel with a section especially dedicated to the Doar-Ivri issue of 1948, one of the best international award-winning collections in existence of Guatemala, as well as sensational stock from Korea with hundreds of rare souvenir sheets. Popular Speciality Areas Traditionally, we will auction off popular speciality areas once more in our evening session. Once again we will focus on the history of international aviation and airmail. Unique memorabilia from the early ballooning history from 1783 onwards in the Valhalla Collection are as equally deserving of your attention as the Zeppelin memorabilia or an incredible collection of covers from various Apollo missions to the Moon and private post from the soviet space stations. A superior rich range of coins, featuring many extensive classic and modern items and a remarkable number of gold coins, will form a second focus of the evening session. Traditional Special Session for Collections and Holdings Our traditional special session for collections and holdings covering all areas of collectors‘ interests will close and form a further highlight of this year’s auction event. Phenomenal extensive collections and unique stock from Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Italy, the British Colonies and virtually all other areas of philatelic interest with countless examples of the very best items, and in addition, extraordinary and substantial collections from Europe and the rest of the world will all combine to ensure a philatelic cornucopia worth millions of francs. The four-day auction will take place in the usual manner in our lavish business and auction house in Wil and promises to provide an engaging programme of events.
