Consigning made easy

Would you like to sell your stamps or coins with success? Let us tell you how to do it step by step.

1. Contact

Do you own stamps or coins? For example a single item or a collection that you wish to sell, but you don’t know its value?

No problem! Just contact us by email, letter, phone or simply via our contact form on our website. Please also add some photos or scans of your best items. Certificates and inventories also help to get a first impression of your collection.

2. First evaluation

On the basis of the forwarded information, our philatelic and numismatic experts will carry out a first evaluation. If your treasures are suitable for an auction sale, you can proceed in two different ways.

3. Expert Days

Come visit us on one of our regularly held Expert Days at our auction house in Wil, Switzerland. Our experts will examine your collection and explain all the important steps of the auction sale.

4. Send us your collection by mail

Send us your collection by registered mail. It will be fully insured upon handover at the post office. We will be happy to provide you all the necessary customs documents for shipments from abroad.

5. Professional advice at your home

When it comes to very comprehensive and valuable objects, we will be pleased to visit you directly at your home. Peter Rapp is travelling through Europe and to overseas on a regular basis and counsels customers personally and professionally. Furthermore we will also take care of the secure and straightforward transport of your collection to Switzerland.

6. Contract

Up to this point there are no costs or obligations involved for you. Only after having decided to go for a best possible auction sale, we will arrange for a written contract. Part of this agreement is a one-time sales commission which includes all provided services. The commission will only be deducted after the auction, once the sale has been successfully completed.

7.
Preparation and presentation of the object for the auction catalogue

As a next step, our experts will carefully examine and prepare the items for the auction sale. Detailed lot descriptions as well as high quality pictures guarantee an ideal presentation of your object in the catalogue.

Approximately one month before the auction, the luxury catalogues will be sent out to our worldwide and well-funded clientele.

8. Consignment information and personal invitation

At the same time you will receive all the important information regarding your consignment as well as your personal invitation to visit the Rapp auction and its entertainment program.

9. Auction event and proceeds payment

We can only recommend being a part of the auction atmosphere when your stamps or coins are going under the hammer! Within only four to six weeks after the auction, you can expect the payment of your sales proceeds by either cash or bank transfer.

It would be a pleasure to successfully sell your stamps or coins as well. Feel free to contact us this very day!
